2013 Manton Apple Festival Saturday October 5th
The 22nd Annual Manton Apple Festival
It is amazing to think the Manton Apple Festival has been here for 22 years! The festival seems to grow every year and its board of community members has been actively keeping it more and more eventful each year.
The festival starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. There will be vendors, kids events, and live music all day long. You’ll find everything from jewelry to jams. What is most appealing about the festival is the many choices of apple pie and other apple concoctions to enjoy! Many community business owners and businesses from around the region join in this tasty event!
The music lineup this year will include our local rising star, 15 year-old Matthew Songmaker on fiddle (and likely about five other instruments), along with his band The Mountain Messengers. Other musicians will include Wild Card band, various members of the District 6 California Old Time Fiddle Association, and Songmaker’s Manton music students. The event will also include Shingletown’s winner of the Western Open Fiddle Contest, Nicki Carlisle, and her music student’s fiddle group Shingletown Bound, which have been taught by Carlisle for seven or more years. Carlisle is also Songmaker’s music teacher and has been teaching him since he was a small child.
Don’t miss the amazing local talent and amazing local apple pies! See y’all there!
